Herta Helmers

PALMER — Herta Helmers, of Palmer, will celebrate her 95th birthday on Tuesday.

Her family includes Rita Helmers, of Los Angeles, California; Doug and Joan Helmers, of Palmer; and Alan and Jean Helmers, of Fort Dodge, She has five grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Her husband, Helmer Helmers, and one grandson are deceased.

She was born on July 9, 1924, in Luisenthal, Ostpreussen (Prussia), Germany. She was a cook at Palmer Consolidated Schools and a homemaker.
