Imogene Hanson

DAYTON — Imogene Hanson, of Dayton, will celebrate her 95th birthday on Friday.

Her family includes Earl and Georgene Hanson, of Dayton; Kathy and Roger Taylor, of Fort Dodge; Karen and Doug Hahn, of Cedar Falls; and Marlan and Deb Hanson, of Harcourt. She has 11 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Emory, is deceased.

Imogene Peterson was born on Feb. 1, 1924, in Lanyon, and graduated from there in 1942. She enlisted in the U.S. Navy and was a nurse for two years during World War II. She married Emory Hanson on Oct. 4, 1947, and they made their home on the family farm south of Dayton until moving into Dayton in 1985. He passed away in 2012.
