1,000th victory for Triton hoop program

The Iowa Central men’s basketball team reached a milestone for program victories here Saturday inside Hodges Fieldhouse.

With a 98-51 triumph over the Simpson JV, the Tritons earned the 1,000 win for the school.

Royshawn Webb had a game-high 27 points, adding seven rebounds, three assists and three steals to lead Iowa Central (10-15). Jesse Moss chipped in with 25, including five 3-pointers.

Kane Kramer added 12 points, Kemryn Jenkins 11 and Dallas Bailey had eight points, eight rebounds, four assists and four steals.

The Tritons put the contest away in the second half, outscoring the Storm, 61-19.

Of those 1,000 program victories, 757 have come under long-time head coach Dennis Pilcher.

The win snapped a four-game losing skid for Iowa Central, who returns to action Wednesday at No. 1 Kirkwood in Cedar Rapids. The Eagles fell to No. 12 NIACC on Saturday, 95-81.
