CLEAR LAKE — The St. Edmond boys suffered their second consecutive close road loss here Friday night, falling to Clear Lake, 63-55.

“We made a couple of runs, cutting the deficit to two, but it just got away from us in the fourth,” SEHS head coach Adolph Kochendorfer said.

Andrew Gibb scored 17 points for the Gaels, with Jackson Kochendorfer adding 15 and Sean Flaherty 13. Gibb, a junior, tallied 13 of his points in the first 16 minutes.

“Andrew and Jackson had good scoring nights for us,” Kochendorfer said. “They made some shots when we had to have them and did a good job.”

Will Woodruff had five points and led St. Edmond in rebounding once again.

Zach Lester led the Lions with 31 points, including 16 in the opening half.

“Lester was tough in the third,” Kochendorfer said. “We had trouble keeping him out of the lane. He’s the best player we’ve seen all year.”

The Gaels will try to snap their losing skid on Tuesday when they travel to Clarion-Goldfield/Dows. In their season opener, St. Edmond fell to the Cowboys, 51-38.
