The Fort Dodge bowling teams both picked up victories over West Des Moines Dowling on Thursday at Ridgewood Lanes.

The Dodger boys defeated the Maroons, 2736-2579. Tre Preston had games of 224 and 235 for a 459 series, which was the meet’s best score. Kaleb Anderson (190-198–388) and Jared Jacobson (168-215–383) followed.

The FDSH girls put on an impressive performance to prevail, 2767-2069. Leah Sanck (172-257–429), Mackenzie Sharpe (214-200–414) and Lauren Hade (153-243–396) had the high series totals in the dual with Dowling. Sharpe was 50 pins over her average in both games.

”The teams are really coming along,” FDSH head coach Don Ervin said. ”Our boys are making strides, and (coach) Niccole (Ervin-Begalle) is just doing a fantastic job with the girls.

”It’s fun to watch them work together as a team and supporting each other.”

The Dodgers return to action on Tuesday against Johnston at Plaza Lanes in Des Moines.
