Dodger bowlers sweep

The Fort Dodge boys and girls bowling teams both opened with victories at the lanes on Tuesday.

The Dodger boys (1-0 overall) earned a tight 2,693-2,662 over Des Moines Lincoln.

Trey Preston led the Dodgers with a 427 series. Preston had games of 232 and 189.

Also competing for the Dodgers were Boston Gordon (317), Jared Jacobson (317), Brady Graves (271) and Nate Stanley (255).

“It was nice to pick up two victories,” said Fort Dodge head coach Don Ervin. “It was a little scary, but we pulled it out.

“We just need to do some fine tuning on the boys side.”

On the girls side, the Dodgers won 2,641-2585.

Leah Sanck was the top bowler for the Dodgers, rolling two 200 games. Sanck had a 213 and 201 for a 414.

Also counting for the Dodgers were Jenna Lee (333), Bethany Armbruster (327), Lauren Hade (320) and Paige Copenhaver (308).

“The girls bowled really well,” Ervin said. “They came out pretty strong and bowled lights out.”
