WEST DES MOINES — Once again, the Fort Dodge swim team saw some of the finest in the state, going stroke-for-stroke with No. 2 West Des Moines Dowling here Tuesday night.

The Maroons claimed a 134-52 victory in the dual.

The Dodgers scored seven second-place finishes on the evening, including five individual events.

Madigan Peimann, Luanne Xiao, Elora Fierke, Taylor Hartley and Grace Hartley were all runner-ups, along with the 200 medley and 400 free relays.

“Dowling is a tough squad, and we saw what we can expect to see at state,” FDSH head coach Ashley Beaumont said. “We’ve had some tough meets here lately, but the girls continue to push forward.”

Peimann was second in the 200 free, with Xiao earning silver in the individual medley. Fierke was runner-up in the 500 free, Taylor Hartley second in the 100 backstroke, and Grace Hartley second in the 100 breaststroke.
