Two champs for FD boys at MCHS
MASON CITY — The Fort Dodge boys track team came with two first-place finishes at the Mason City Invitational on Monday.
The Dodgers had 79 team points. Cedar Falls (139) won the meet, followed by Waterloo West (120).
Fort Dodge junior Kaleb Jondle won the 100-meter dash in a time of 11.54. Dike-New Hartford’s Tyler Miller was second in 11.80.
The sprint medley team of Jondle, Luke Jacobson, Brycen Bell and Trey Mosley grabbed gold in 1:37.83.
“Jondle ran well in all three of his races,” said Fort Dodge head coach John McBride. “Mosley had a 51.5 as anchor in the medley to win it.”
Fort Dodge’s Aiden Simonson, Jacobson, Ozzy Pattison and Savion Poe were second in the 4×200 (1:38.03).
The Dodgers grabbed a runner-up showing in the shuttle hurdle relay with Trey Kasperbauer, Anthony Wagner, Asle Thorson and Mason Bodholdt in 1:05.24.
The Dodger quartet of Jondle, Jacobson, Bell and Savion Poe were third in the 4×100 (45.32).
Jason Halverson was third in the 1600 (4:51.20).
Dartayvious Diekman was third in the long jump (18.11.5).
Fort Dodge will run again on Tuesday at Des Moines Hoover.
The Dodgers 4×100 team will run at the Drake Relays on Friday in Des Moines.
