Landwehr earns gold for SE

NEVADA — The St. Edmond boys and girls track teams competed here Thursday at the Nevada Co-Ed Relays.

The Gael girls finished fourth overall, with Pella winning.

Abby Landwehr continued her strong start to the season, winning the 3000 in 11:39.36, over 27 seconds faster than the runner-up. Audrey Kolacia added a fifth in the same event.

Megan Flattery placed third in the 800 (2:40.72) and Erin Flattery was fourth in the 400 (1:08.66). Erin Flattery also finished fourth in the long jump (14-11).

Isabel Woodhouse was second in the 400 hurdles and Cambrie McBride third in the event. Woodhouse was also third in the high jump.

The distance medley of Milena Naughton, Olivia Kolacia, Megan Flattery and Landwehr were second in 4:54.26.

In the 4×400, the Gaels finished third in 4:43.56. Erin Flattery, Josephine Perry, Megan Flattery and Landwehr comprised the unit.

On the boys side, SEHS was eighth, as Gilbert won the team title.

Jake Heidenreich claimed third in the 400 hurdles in 1:02.99 and Sam Dougall placed fourth in the 110 hurdles in 16.51.

Nick Simpson was sixth in the high jump. Also, the sprint medley of Cade Naughton, Nick Bennett, Sean Newell and Charlie Shelly finished third in 1:42.28.

The St. Edmond boys run Friday night at Clarion-Goldfield/Dows, while the girls run there on Tuesday.
