Area archers shine at indoor championships

DYERSVILLE — Junior Olympic Archers from the Iowa Outdoor Store JOAD Program competed in the Iowa State JOAD Indoor Championship at Plum Creek Archery.

These local archers competed against top shooters in the state, as well as others from Illinois, Missouri and Minensota.

Klaire Adams earned gold in the women’s Cub Division, and was also named the Grand Champion with the highest score of all the participants that competed in all classes.

Keaton Hepperle was the champion in the men’s Cadet Class.

Adam Lacina finished second in the men’s Cub Division. Lydia Vandeer took fourth place in the women’s Bowman Division.

Ayedden Miller was fourth in the men’s Cadet Class.

Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) is a program of USA Archery that teaches archery to young people and provides great opportunities for awarding achievement, and helps archers to enjoy the sport recreatinally or progress to the excitement of competition.

The local USA Archery Coaches for JOAD are Jeremy Adams and Aaron McKinney.
