Tritons sweep Doane JV

CRETE, Neb. — The Iowa Central baseball team swept a twinbill from Doane JV on Thursday in Nebraska.

The Tritons (7-4 overall) won 7-0 and 12-4.2-0

Jacob Mohler putched a seven inning shutout, striking out nine batters and allowing only three hits.

Felix Martinez and Junior Aracena had two hits each. Aracena drove in three runs with a home run.

In the 12-4 win, Williem Martinez and Rodny Rodriguez had three hits. Martinez drove in three runs and Aracena drove in three runs.

Steven Calderon and Spencer Franko had two hits each with two RBI.

“Mohler threw fantastic in Game 1,” said Iowa Central head coach Justin Meyer. “He gave us what we needed.

“Game 2, we were able to get a couple of different guys in there. We had 19 hits in the game and I feel like we’re hitting our stride.”

Iowa Central is back in action on Saturday when they travel to Beatrice, Nebraska to face Southeast Nebraska.
