Triton softball team wins twice
COCOA BEACH, Fla. — The Iowa Central softball team went 2-1 in Florida on Thursday.
The Tritons beat College of DuPage 12-7 and Kishwaukee 12-4. They lost to Crowder 8-1.
After trailing 5-1, the Tritons (20-7 overall) outscored DuPage 11-2 to earn the victory.
“We put up a six spot in the third after they went up quick 5-1,” said Iowa Central head coach Rick Sandquist. “We’ll be off for a week, so it will be nice to get healthy, we’re kind of banged up right now.”
In the DuPage contest, Sonya McCormick was 4-for-5 with four hits and five RBI.
Fort Dodge graduate Brielle Ulrich was 4-for-4 with two RBI. Fellow Fort Dodge graduate Cassie Tjebben and Kama Kaeo had two hits each.
