MANSON — Three St. Edmond boys reached double figures as the Gaels picked up a 68-43 victory here Thursday night over Manson Northwest Webster.
Senior Charlie Doyle had a game-high 18 points, while Andrew Gibb added 11 and Jake Heidenreich 10.
“We did a good job of moving the basketball,” SEHS head coach Adolph Kochendorfer said. “Ball reversal and inside-out passes resulted in good looks for us.”
After taking a 12-11 lead into the second quarter, St. Edmond (5-5 overall) outscored Manson Northwest Webster 40-15 over the second and third quarters.
“We talked about coming out after halftime and playing three solid minutes,” Kochendorfer said. “I thought we did a good job of that, which resulted in us building a lead.”
Heidenreich added eight rebounds and four assists, with Will Woodruff contributing four points, six rebounds and six assists. Gibb also dished out five assists.
“It feels good to get a win,” Kochendorfer said. “It’s felt like a while since we last got a win.”
St. Edmond had dropped three in a row, with its last win coming on Dec. 13 when they defeated Humboldt, 84-73. The Gaels travel to Algona tonight before returning home next week for dates with Clarion-Goldfield/Dows on Tuesday and the Wildcats on Friday.
