Home debut for Triton men’s tennis
In the program’s first-ever home match, the Iowa Central men’s tennis team defeated Buena Vista, 2-1, in a rain-shortened dual at Dodger Courts on Thursday evening.
In the matches suspedned due to rain and lightning, Iowa Central held solid leads, claiming first sets in each with leads in all second sets.
Winning singles matches for the Tritons (2-0 overall) and first-year head coach Todd Redenius were Manuel Roman (6-0, 2-1), Anthony Lekoko (6-3, 1-0); Steven Mears (6-1, 2-0), Jacob Martens (6-2, 2-1) and Zane Baker (6-0, 6-1).
The doubles team of Lekoko/Mears won 8-1.
The Tritons are back in action on Thursday when they travel to Grand View.
