Bulldogs move on

WEBSTER?CITY?- The Algona boys basketball team knocked off Humboldt 48-43 in a Class 3A district semifinal.

Landon Rash led the Bulldogs with 26 points.

Thomas Orness (18) and Devon?Clark (14) had double figures for the Wildcats.

Lynx advance, 82-47

WEBSTER CITY – The Webster City boys picked up an 82-47 victory over Iowa Falls-Alden here Monday to advance in Class 3A substate play.

After finishing the first half tied at 35-all, the Lynx (19-2 overall) outscored the Cadets (3-19) 30-6 in the third quarter.

All five Webster City starters reached double figures.

Alex Fuhs had 18 points, while Avery Fuhs added 16, six rebounds and six assists. Colt Richardson tallied 12 points and eight rebounds. Sean Vogelbacher added 11 points.

Webster City takes on North Central Conference rival Algona in Fort Dodge Thursday. Tip is set for 7 p.m.

lead SEV to win

GOWRIE – The Southeast Valley boys found a way to stay on track here Friday night, claiming an overtime victory vs. East Sac County, 74-66.

Dakota Jaeschke had a monster game for the Jaguars (16-3 overall), scoring 23 points, grabbing 17 rebounds and dishing out eight assists. Conner Conrad also recorded a double-double with 23 points and 11 boards.

Southeast Valley has now won 15 of its last 16 overall.

For the Raiders (7-11), Cameron Wernimont had 22 points. Wernimont also hit a buzzer-beating three to send the game to overtime.

MANSON – The South Central Calhoun boys edged Manson Northwest Webster 48-47 on Friday night.

Derrick Henkenius paced the Titans with 19 points.

Jackson Johnson had 24 points for the Cougars.

Roetman over 1,000 points in his career

WEST BEND – The Pocahontas Area boys picked up their second win in as many nights here Friday night, downing West Bend-Mallard, 69-40.

Austin Roetman had 20 points for the Indians (15-3 overall), who downed St. Edmond on Thursday night. Roetman, a junior, surpassed the 1,000-point mark for his career.

Jace Davidson added 17 and Tanner Youngberg 10 for Pocahontas Area.

Jack Banwart had a game-high 21 to lead the Wolverines.

IOWA FALLS – The Clarion-Goldfield/Dows boys earned a 66-60 overtime victory against Iowa Falls-Alden on Friday night.

Brendon Boyd led the Cowboys (7-12 overall) with 22 points. Ryan Darland added 15. Sam Urness had 13 and Chase Harker chipped in with 10.

Zach Ites had 34 for the Cadets.
