Indianola rallies late to advance
Down 1-0 in the sixth, third-ranked Indianola plated four runs to advance to the Class 5A semifinals with a 4-1 victory over No. 10 Dubuque Hempstead at Rogers Park.
Payton Anderson and Taylor Bowling each had two hits for the Indians (35-3 overall), with Sammie Becker, Brooke Tucker and Bowling all driving in a run.
Sydney Sickels picked up the victory, throwing a one-hitter with seven strikeouts to push her record to 25-1.
For Dubuque Hempstead (31-12), Morgan Krug plated Emalee Ryder in the fourth.
