Ask Marilyn: This Week's 'Strictly Personal' Question
Laura in Cambridge, Massachusetts, writes:
Marilyn: I've thought about different ways to phrase this question, but it just amounts to this: How can I find people like myself? I've suffered so much from loneliness. But now I know that I'm not looking for smart people, good-looking people, or successful people. I'm truly looking for people who are more like me. I've tried my favorite places, but I didn't quite find anyone. Where else can I look?
Get involved in politics, and I don't mean heavy-duty volunteering. Just see what your favorite party is doing nearby, and start to attend events or whatever interests you. With time, I'll bet that you'll find people more like you.
