The suspect of the alleged drive-by shooting in Fort Dodge Aug. 18 appeared in Webster County Magistrate Court Tuesday.
Xavier Rhone, 18, is charged with going armed with intent and intimidation with a weapon, both Class D felonies. Rhone is also charged with carrying weapons, two counts of assault while displaying a weapon and fourth-degree criminal mischief, all aggravated misdemeanors.
Fort Dodge police arrested Rhone Monday evening after an anonymous tip was called in.
According to a press release, police pulled over the tan Buick Rhone was driving at the time and he was arrested without incident.
On Aug. 18, Rhone allegedly shot twice at a home at 1603 Third Ave. N. from a black four-door car. Later that day, police towed a car they believed to be used in the shooting.
Rhone allegedly assaulted Tykay Diekman and Tyler Vandivier while pointing a handgun at them, charging documents say.
No one was injured in the alleged shooting.
The criminal mischief charge stems from an incident on July 17.
Rhone allegedly threw a baseball-sized rock through the living room window and screen of the 1603 Third Ave. N. home.
Rhone is being held on $22,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is set for Sept. 3.
"As a result of help from the community, we were able to take Mr. Rhone into custody," Acting Fort Dodge Police Chief Kevin Doty said in an email. "(This is) another good example of everyone working together to make our community a safer place."
