GILMORE CITY - Gilmore City is preparing for its 31st annual Fun Days, which take place Friday through Sunday.
"I'm excited about the new things we've got going this year," co-chair Lavonne Hoover said. "I think that everyone looks forward to it."
One of the new events is a wine tasting on the street at the County Line Tap on Friday starting at 4 p.m.
Later in the evening, the County Line Tap is hosting a band called the Kozmic Brownies.
"The owner is really excited about having them there," Hoover said.
Across the street at the same time, the Limestone Lounge will be having karaoke.

The annual cutie contest is at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Kids from the community compete to be called the cutest.
"We just draw names from a hat, but the kids have fun," Hoover said.
After the contest, there will be a children's movie next to the fire station. People attending should bring blankets and chairs.
Another new event this year is bingo at the Senior Center at noon on Saturday.
"It's air conditioned in there and they can sit down and play bingo," she said.
During the Fun Days, businesses set up entertainment for the community.
"We let businesses do what they want," Hoover said. "They set up their own entertainment and their own ideas."
The annual parade is Saturday at 10:30 a.m. After the parade is a Lions Club lunch at the fire station.
Games for kids begin at 12:30 p.m.
"They get to ring a two-liter of pop and keep the pop," she said. "We have a fishing pond, which the kids really love."
Entries for the annual photo contest are due Friday night; the photos will be judged Saturday morning at 8 a.m. Once the photos are judged, the top 12 will be selected for use in the Gilmore City calendar.
The annual street dance, which starts at 8 p.m. Saturday night, will feature the Joie Wails Band.
"Joie is originally from Gilmore City, so we're always excited to have her band come back and play for us," Hoover said.
The annual tractor ride Sunday at 10 a.m. will go to Pioneer, Rutland and Bradgate. While the tractors are gone, a community cook-off will commense at 11 a.m. When the tractors return, there will be a community potluck.
