A bullet was shot through the living room of a Fort Dodge home at about 2:10 p.m. Monday in an apparent drive-by shooting.
Mary Vandivier said she and a 5-year-old were in the living room of 1603 Third Ave. N. when the shot was fired.
No one was hit.
Fort Dodge Police Lt. Dennis Mernka looks for a bullet hole in a tree that was shot Monday afternoon. Another bullet went through the living room of the 1603 Third Ave. N. home.
"He shot right through the living room," Vandivier said. Another bullet hit a tree outside.
Fort Dodge Police may have found the car driven during shooting Monday afternoon, according to Fort Dodge Police Lt. Dennis Mernka.
According to scanner traffic, police towed a car from the 1400 block of Ninth Avenue South.
Scanner traffic did not indicate an arrest and Mernka declined further comment.
Tykay Diekman said she saw the shooting.
"The car drove by and there was a gunshot," Diekman said. "Then he shot again in the driveway."
The car then drove around the corner, she said.
