Joyce Elaine Farmer, 74, died Saturday, August 2, 2014, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, after a short illness.
A service remembering Joyce will take place at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, August 9th at the Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City with a time of visitation from 11 am until the service and again immediately following the service where refreshments and fellowship will be shared. Joyce was born April 16, 1940, in Fort Dodge, Iowa; daughter of Ester (Felkey) and Robert F. Coleman. She moved to Iowa City in 2006, shortly after her retirement.

She had four brothers and ten sisters. Joyce married James Farmer September 26, 1960, and they had three children. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother; her children include, Dianna (Jeff) Reuter, James Farmer Jr. and Traci (Steve) Hotz; five grandchildren, Nick and Mitch Reuter, Kelly and Dustin Hotz and Amanda (Andy) Thomas and future granddaughter-in-law, Ashley Vitosh. Her surviving siblings include, Janice, Sandy, Marilyn, Larry, Paul, Tillie and Esther.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; JoAnn, Jerry, Mavis, Roberta, BevAnn, Merle and Jaci.
