The St. Edmond baseball team split a pair of North Central Conference games on the road Thursday, defeating Clarion-Goldfield before falling to Hampton-Dumont.
The Gaels (14-12 overall, 8-7 in NCC) beat Clarion-Goldfield 9-1 earlier in the day.
Hank Crimmins had three hits, including a double, while Robert Flattery and Matthew Bocken each had two.
Jason Setterdahl picked up the win in the circle. He struck out eight batters and walked only one.
All seven of the Gaels runs in the third inning came with two outs.
"We've had a long, rough stretch of games here as of late, but the kids continued to fight until the end," SEHS head coach Joe Shanks said. "We had some chances (against Hampton-Dumont), but we just couldn't capitalize with runners on base."
