IOWA FALLS - Snapping a four-game losing streak, the St. Edmond baseball team posted a 7-1 victory over Iowa Falls-Alden here Friday night.
Hank Crimmins and Logan Fear each collected two hits and two RBI for the Gaels (10-8 overall, 5-4 in the North Central Conference).
Ryan Szalat added three runs for SEHS, while Cal Coleman scored twice.
"We were real fundamental at the plate, ran the bases well and pushed guys around when we needed to," said St. Edmond head coach Joe Shanks. "After dropping four in a row, I was happy with our effort (Friday)."
Robert Flattery (3-0) pitched the first six innings in the win, scattering six hits and one earned run. Flattery walked three and fanned five. Matthew Bocken worked a hitless seventh in relief with one strikeout.
"Robert was in control throughout the game," Shanks said. "We took advantage of (the Cadet) mistakes."

Brandon Qualley and Sam Thielen finished with two hits apiece for Iowa Falls-Alden.
Thielen also crossed the dish in the sixth inning to break up the Gael shutout bid.
In their earlier meeting this season, St. Edmond cruised to a 15-3 triumph over the Cadets.
Next action for the Gaels is Monday when they host Eagle Grove.
