Three Fort Dodge boys soccer players were recently nominated to the all-CIC Northern Division second team.
Junior defender Austin Read, senior defender Parker Huebsch and junior midfielder Alex Jackson were each honored for the Dodgers.
Read started all 18 games for FDSH, collecting one goal and one assist. Huebsch delivered four scores and two helpers, while Jackson found the back of the net twice with four assists.
"We were disappointed with the picks," said Dodger third-year head coach Pablo Rodriguez. "We thought we should've had more players as we've had in the past. I did think the players that got on there definitely deserved it."
Fort Dodge went 5-13 overall this past season, including 0-2 in the CIC Northern Division. Three of the Dodger victories actually came via shutouts.
"I felt our intensity level over the course of the season went up and down," Rodriguez said. "We just weren't really as consistent as I would've liked to have seen. Skill-wise, though, we showed some potential."
Jackson and Read were both selected to the all-CIC Northern Division top squad a year ago. Huebsch was tabbed to the second team in 2013.
