Andrew Huseman will go for a second straight Lakeside Amateur men's golf tournament title here today.
Huseman is among the 110 players signed up for the annual event, which will begin at 7:42 a.m. this morning.
Tee times will run until 11:50 a.m., with the championship flight scheduled to begin around 5:30 p.m.
Last year, Huseman edged Fort Dodge Senior High graduate Brandon Kinseth by just one stroke with a three-under 105 for the 27-hole tournament. Huseman, the son of local businessman and FDSH graduate Bill Huseman and grandson of long-time Fort Dodge athletic director Dutch Huseman, carded a two-under 34 during the championship nine, including birdies on three of the final six holes to prevail.
Huseman, a recent Ankeny Centennial graduate, recorded a rare albatross on the par-five 7th hole at the Fort Dodge Country Club on Thursday. Huseman, an Indian Hills signee, helped lead Centennial to a Class 4A state crown last fall.
Temperatures are expected to be in the mid-70s on Sunday. Winds will be out of the northeast at around 10 miles per hour.
Lakeside is a par-72 layout.
