MANSON - Stormy weather caused power outages in areas around
Manson and Emmetsburg Sunday afternoon.
In both cases, the weather led to downed wires, said MidAmerican Spokesperson Abby Bottenfield.
Much of the town of Manson was without power for about an hour and a half, in an outage which also included portions of Webster, Pocahontas and Humboldt counties in addition to Calhoun County, Bottenfield said.
The outage was reported at 4:25 p.m., and affected 1,734 customers, she said. Power was restored to 516 customers by 5:10 p.m., and to the rest at 5:55 p.m.
The boundaries of the affected area were the 2700 block of Colorad oAve. in Humboldt County, the 3600 block of 230th Street in Calhoun County, the 1800 block of 140th Street in Webster County, the 3100 block of 117th Street in Calhoun County, the 56000 block of 320th Avenue in Pocahontas County, the 2300 block of Treaer Avenue in Calhoun County, the 1000 block of 120th Street in Webster County, and the 2400 block of 630th Street in Pocahontas County.
In Palo Alto county, 1,099 customers were without power from around 5:20 to 7 p.m., Bottenfield said. The area affected included Emmetsburg and west into the county, as well as an area near Ruthven.
The boundaries were from the 4100 block of 340th Street, the 2000 block of 18th Street, Eemmetsburg, and the 4700 block of U.S. Highway 18; as well as an area near the 3000 block of 350th Street.
