To the editor:
I recently picked up a local newspaper. Under court news, a suspect was charged three times dating back to 2008, 2010 and 2013 for drug charges, breaking and entering, etc. Prison charges and stiff fines were suspended; consequently, you can see from 2008 he kept doing the same things. What did he have to lose? If the punishment for these crimes was harsh enough, maybe we could curtail some of this.
I can see why Wright County isn't getting anywhere in eliminating the problem. The taxpayers foot the bills for this behavior. Laws need to improve and the people we elect to protect our community need to do their job.
