CARROLL - The St. Edmond boys tennis team posted a 9-0 shutout over Carroll Kuemper here on Thursday.
Zach Gailey, Patrick Hancock, Jimmy Averill, Ben Albright, Konrad Laufersweiler and Jacob Meyer each claimed singles victories for the Gaels (7-2 overall).
In doubles competition, the duos of Gailey and Averill, Laufersweiler and Hancock and Albright and John Eide all prevailed for SEHS.
"With the weather the way it's been lately, I was just glad we were able to get the meet in," said St. Edmond head coach Tyler Philipsen. "Zach had a nice match at No. 1 singles, which was kind of back and forth. He pulled ahead just enough to beat (Robby Steffes).
"Jimmy and Zach have been playing really well together, too, and this was no exception. It was nice to have John back in the rotation for the first time this season (Eide had been sidelined by a broken hand). Him and Ben played as well as you could hope for."
Next outing for the Gaels is Saturday when they host Sioux City Heelan. Start time is set for 10 a.m. at Dodger Courts.
