To the editor:
Saturday, April 26, is the kick off for the 50th grand opening for the historic Fort Museum and Frontier Village. It is the 50th anniversary for the museum. Many things will be happening at the Fort this year.
The Fort will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for everyone to come and enjoy the new displays and revisit some of the original artifacts. Only a donation at the door will get you in. Remember, at 50 years, we all need a little sprucing up.
There will be many artisans demonstrating antique crafts throughout the day. Quilting, blacksmithing, letterpress printing, toy making, candle making, rope making and knitting, to name a few.
The Fort Museum and Frontier Village was started in 1964 by the Historical Foundation of Fort Dodge. It is one of the treasures of our area. Come support your Fort. Keep the legacy of this area alive. You don't know where you're going unless you know where you came from.
