MARSHALLTOWN - The Fort Dodge boys tennis team took home top honors from the Marshalltown Invitational on Saturday.
The Dodgers finished with 27 out of a possible 30 points.
Brian Murman and Caleb Hendrickson each went a perfect 3-0 to claim singles titles for FDSH. Murman downed Andy Kim of Ames by an 8-0 score for the No. 1 singles crown, while Hendrickson topped Southeast Polk's Luke Tally for gold at No. 2 singles, 8-4.
At the No. 1 doubles spot, Jon Bowser and Andrew Stover also won all three of their matches. Bowser and Stover prevailed over Sam Rice and David Conway from Southeast Polk in the championship round, 8-5.
Fort Dodge's Ben Ahlers and Rob Leigh went 2-1 in doubles, dropping an 8-3 decision to Ames' Sam Nettleton and Nathan Pang in the finals.
"It was nice to see the guys play through some windy conditions and be able to bring home the overall Invite victory," said FDSH head coach Jared Feddersen. "Winning three of the four flights and only losing one match on the day really shows how well we played."
Next outing for the Dodgers is Tuesday at Des Moines North. Start time is set for 4 p.m.
