The Fort Dodge girls tennis team fell short by a 6-5 decision against Waukee Thursday night at Dodger Courts.
Emily Knight and Gretta Leigh each posted singles victories for the Dodgers.
In doubles play, Kari Grindberg and Knight, Allison Birnbaum and Jamie Haden and Elizabeth Thomas and Kelsey Albrecht all prevailed.
"Kari and Emily had to play strategic to beat (Kayla) Kuethe and (Brianna) Young," said FDSH head coach Karine Feddersen. "Gretta (Leigh) did exactly what we needed her to do (last night) as well as the rest of the season."
Junior varsity winners for Fort Dodge were Cate Hatton, Brianna Barkema, Brenna Williams, Jessica Montes, McKinna Teske, Elli Russell, Michael Hiracheta and Taylor Pingel.
Next outing for the Dodger varsity is Tuesday when it hosts Des Moines North. Start time is set for 4 p.m.
