The Fort Dodge boys tennis team dropped a tight 6-5 decision to West Des Moines Dowling Tuesday at Dodger Courts.
Brian Murman, Jon Bowser and Caleb Hendrickson all picked up singles wins for the Dodgers (1-1 overall).
In doubles competition, the duos of Murman and Andrew Stover and Bowser and Hendrickson each prevailed.
"A close loss like this gives us an idea of things we still need to be working on," said FDSH head coach Jared Feddersen. "We will have to show a lot of resiliency as a team and come back motivated on Thursday."
Claiming JV victories for the Dodgers were Israel Quintana, Adam Moore and Tim Hatton.
Next outing for Fort Dodge is Thursday at Waukee. Start time is set for 4 p.m.
