Pushing its winning streak to nine straight games, the Iowa Central softball team swept an ICCAC doubleheader from Iowa Lakes Tuesday at Rogers Sports Complex.
After cruising to a 12-2 victory in the opener, the Tritons (34-9 overall, 13-3 in the league) prevailed in a 12-11 slugfest in the nightcap.
Sammie Hildreth went a perfect 3-for-3 offensively with two longballs, a double, three runs scored and two RBI in Game 1 for Iowa Central.
Nicole Dobernecker and Sarah McCoy each added a pair of hits for the Tritons. McCoy also went deep, drove in three and scored twice, while Dobernecker crossed the plate three times.
Allie Ingalls (North Union) went the distance in the circle, allowing just two hits and one earned run. Ingalls (16-5) walked two and fanned five.
In the second contest, Dobernecker and Ingalls each collected two hits. Casey-May Huff tallied three RBI, and Hildreth and Doberbecker both knocked in two. Dobernecker, Ingalls and Katie Newbury all scored twice. Dobernecker actually belted a pair of round-trippers, while Hildreth homered once.

Starting pitcher Bailey Barnett (3-0) posted the victory in relief, yielding one hit and no earned runs in one inning of work.
Dobernecker and Hildreth now rank first and second in the conference in home runs with 18 and 14, respectively.
"We probably hit the ball as hard as we have all season," said ICCC head coach Josh Sandin. "Iowa Lakes is a feisty team that doesn't quit. I felt very confident we were going to win throughout the second game, but we really had to battle."
The Tritons outhit the Lakers (12-20, 2-16) in the twinbill, 21-14.
Iowa Central returns to action today at NIACC (10-12, 2-10). First pitch is set for 3:30 p.m. in Mason City.
