DES MOINES - The Fort Dodge boys track team finished third here Tuesday night at the Ron Peterson Relays hosted by Des Moines Hoover.
Des Moines Lincoln was first with 150 points, followed by Johnston (139) and the Dodgers (95).
Fort Dodge won two races, taking gold in both the 4x100 and 4x200 relays.
Keegan Myers, Sam Cook, JC Hatcher and Cray Washington crossed first in the 4x1 in 44.82, while Myers, Zach Anderson, Hatcher and Washington clocked 1:33.59 in the 4x2.
"Our 4x1 time should get us into the Drake Relays, as that is what we ran at Drake last year," FDSH head coach John McBride said. "If the 4x2 cut-off was (Tuesday), we would be in, but that time is going to keep dropping and we need to drop time, as well.
"Still, it was good to see us win those two relays, as there were some strong teams here."
Washington also placed second in the 100 (11.35) and third in the 200 (23.15), while Hatcher finished fourth in the 100 (11.60).
Sam Kolacia was runner-up in the 400 in 55.06, followed by Johnny Bice in 55.35.
Thomas Thompson was fourth in the 3200 and Dalton Niemeyer was fifth in the 800.
The 4x400 relay of Kolacia, Bice, Damien Miller and Myers placed third (3:41.28), while the 4x800 of Nic Ganzeveld, Tanner Smith, Ryan Wagner and Niemeyer was fourth, along with the medley of Cook, Hatcher, Miller and Cole Detmering.
Myers added a runner-up finish in the long jump with a leap of 18.4.5. Jake Porter was second in the shot put (49-7) and Riley Prescott took third (49-3.5).
"It was good to get outside, even though the conditions weren't that great," McBride said. "Our kids ran well and we had some good times."
Fort Dodge returns to action - weather permitting - Thursday at Indianola.
