A suspect has been arrested by the Fort Dodge Police Department after a man was stabbed Tuesday afternoon.
Shamar Foy, 25, of Fort Dodge, was charged with willful injury, a Class D felony, after allegedly stabbing Adam Gilson, 29, of Fort Dodge, in the leg. Foy was booked into the Webster County jail Tuesday afternoon.
The incident happened around 2 p.m.

According to Lt. Chuck Guthrie, of the Fort Dodge Police Department, Foy and Gilson had gotten into an altercation in the parking lot of Walmart, 3036 First Ave S.
"In the process, the victim was stabbed in the leg," Guthrie said, adding the incident ended in a handicapped parking space on the north side of the parking lot.
It was not known what the man was stabbed with.
The suspect fled Walmart, but was arrested by Fort Dodge Police officers a few minutes later in the parking lot of Hy-Vee, 115 S. 29th St..
Gilson was taken to Unity Point-Trinity Regional Medical Center for his injury, identified in a police department press release as non-life-threatening stab wounds to his upper left thigh. Gilson has been released from the hospital, according to the press release.
The Fort Dodge Fire Department and Webster County Sheriff's Department also responded to the scene.
