A man is being sought by the Fort Dodge Police Department after allegedly robbing a convenience store at knifepoint Sunday night.
Nathaniel L. Altman, 27, has active warrants for first-degree robbery and first-degree theft, according to Fort Dodge Police Chief Tim Carmody.
At 10:51 p.m. Sunday, clerks at the Downtown Sinclair, 309 Second Ave. S., were preparing to close when a suspect came in with a large kitchen knife. The employees told officers the suspect ordered them to the floor and demanded money. He also threatened to hurt both employees.
After receiving an undetermined amount of money, the suspect fled the store, but it's not known which direction he ran.
Through the on-scene investigation, Carmody said, officers were able to identify Altman as the suspect.
Officers worked to locate Altman, but were unsuccessful as of Monday evening.
Carmody asked anybody with information on Altman to contact the Fort Dodge Police Department at 573-1426 or Webster County Crime Stoppers at 573-1444. Tips can also be sent online at wccrimestoppers.com or by texting "LEC" and the tip to 274637.
