MOORLAND - No one was injured when a train struck a tractor-trailer Friday evening west of Fort Dodge.

The crash happened at about 6:10 p.m. near White Transfer & Storage Co. Inc., 1834 Highway D20 West.

The truck was crossing railroad tracks to enter the company's property when it was struck by a westbound Union Pacific Railroad train, according to Lt. Kevin Kruse, of the Webster County Sheriff's Department. He said the train hit the trailer, which was empty. The truck came to rest on the south side of the tracks.

The train originated in Eagle Grove and was to serve industries in the Fort Dodge area, according Mark Davis, a spokesman for the railroad.

Webster County sheriff's deputies, the Iowa State Patrol and the Moorland Fire Department were dispatched to the incident.
