EAGLE GROVE - Wrapping up their regular season on a high note, the St. Edmond boys basketball team rolled to a 69-47 victory over Eagle Grove Tuesday night.

The Gaels (15-6 overall, 13-5 North Central Conference) were never threatened after jumping out to a 24-11 lead entering the second quarter.

"We came up (to Eagle Grove) and played a good solid basketball game, which is what we needed to do," said SEHS head coach Adolph Kochendorfer. "Eagle Grove has been playing people a lot tougher, so this was a good test for us before heading into tournaments."

Senior Robby Burke recorded his 19th double-double of the season for St. Edmond, contributing 22 points and 10 rebounds.

"I thought Robby really handled the double teams well," Kochendorfer said. "He's getting better at passing the ball to the open guy."

Konrad Laufersweiler (19) and Matthew Bocken (17) were next in line offensively for the Gaels, who prevailed for a third straight game. Laufersweiler also grabbed seven boards, while Landon Peed chipped in 10 assists, six points and five rebounds.
