The C/C Sidekicks 4-H club were awarded a 2013 Webster County 4-H Youth Grant to collaborate with the Beacon of Hope Men’s Homeless Shelter. The grant is funded by the Webster County 4-H Foundation. In September, 4-H club members planned, prepared, and served a meal at St. Olaf church and toured the Beacon’s kitchen renovation. In December, 4-H club members planned and worked with men at the Beacon of Hope to prepare and serve the meal in their new kitchen. Mercedes Loehr was grant writer and project chair.
