AMES - Freshman Keaton Dornath was thrust into the spotlight on Thursday night and Fort Dodge's 170-pounder didn't disappoint.
Dornath's impressive finish gave the Dodgers a 42-33 upset victory over ninth-ranked Mason City.
The Dodgers gave away 18 points with three forfeits in the dual.
Fort Dodge then lost a 48-28 dual to host Ames.
Dornath nearly went six minutes with junior Billy O'Neill, but the Dodger rookie put his back to the mat to earn a fall in 5:55 in a match he was losing to perserve the victory.
Dornath and Sam?Cook (182) were on the mat at the same time with Mason City leading 33-30. Cook earned a fall to put the Dodgers ahead and Dornath finished it off with a fall.

"Keaton had a lot of pressure on him coming into the match with the dual on the line,'' said Fort Dodge head coach Bobby Thompson. "Keaton was very impressive. He was losing the match, but came away with a huge victory.
"We beat a regional dual team that's ranked. It's nice to knock off a long time rival like Mason City."
The Dodgers earned all falls in their seven victories on the night. Freshman Triston Lara (106), sophomores Cook, Cole Detmering (120), Keenan Cook (138), junior Erik Birnbaum (113) and senior Riley Prescott (195) all picked up falls for the Dodgers.
"It was very impressive to get this win,'' Thompson said. "Those guys (Dornath, Lara) have been getting in their, wrestling 20 matches and being first time varsity.
"It's pretty valuable for these younger guys to get big wins at the end of the year.''
Picking up wins against Ames were Lara, Birnbaum, Detmering, Keenan Cook, Sam Cook and Prescott.
"We lost eight matches all night,'' Thompson said. "Mason City dominated Ames and in the Ames dual we lost some close matches.''
The Dodgers won't compete until their district meet on Saturday, Feb. 15 in the Dodger gym.
