MANSON - The Manson Meridian Singers will present their 43rd annual show, "Celebrate The Music of Life," Feb. 8, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday Feb. 9, at 2:p.m. Both performances will be in the Kate Toben Auditorium at Manson Northwest Webster Junior/Senior High School in Manson.
Tickets are now on sale for $8 each with all seats reserved.
The director of the Meridian Singers is Jerrold Jimmerson, who will be directing his 28th production after having sung with the group for eight years. The piano accompanist is Lori Erkenbrack, who is in her eighth year accompanying after having sung for several years. There are 29 vocalists in this year's production, along with a three-piece combo providing accompaniment.
This year's show will feature many familiar melodies. The show is a reflective look at music from the 1930's to today, with such Big Band-era medleys as "Gershwin," and "Nothing Could Be Finer: Those Fabulous 40s!," along with a salute to the winter Olympics, country-western music and the Beatles. During the sacred set, the Meridians will sing, "Bow the Knee" and "Order My Steps." The patriotic set will close the show with a special salute to our military with "American Heroes" and "An American Salute." Several soloists and small groups will be featured, as well as a Children's Choir.
