A shop at Sparboe Farms, an egg-production facility at 2088 120th St., was reported on fire shortly after 8 a.m. today. According to officials on the scene, the fire was on the northwest corner of the property and was blowing toward other buildings. There was thick smoke rolling across U.S. Highway 169.
The Badger Fire Department has requested assistance from three other departments and asked that an ambulance from Trinity Regional Medical Center stand by.
The shop where the fire originated appears to be a total loss.

FIREFIGHTERS FROM FIVE area departments work to get a shop building blaze under control Tuesday morning. The building was a total loss. No information on what caused the fire is available at this time. Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to the shop building. Initial reports said fire departments responding were from Badger, Vincent, Clare, Manson and Humboldt.
