A man accused of burglarizing the same Fort Dodge business on two separate occasions months apart has been ordered held on bond.
Blake A. Peterson, 20, of Fort Dodge, is facing multiple charges in connection with two burglaries at Romantix, 15 N. Fifth St.
At his initial appearance in Webster County Magistrate Court Friday morning, Peterson was ordered held on $22,000 bond by Magistrate William Habhab.
Peterson was arrested Thursday by Fort Dodge Police.
Officers responded to Romantix on Sunday after receiving a call about a burglary in progress. By the time officers arrived, Police Chief Tim Carmody said the suspect was gone, but a witness reported that a man had driven his pickup truck through the front of the store in order to get inside.
On Thursday, police received information that led them to where Peterson was living. Based on evidence found at the scene, Peterson was charged in connection with the Sunday burglary.
In addition, officers found evidence that linked Peterson to a previous burglary at Romantix from Oct. 19, 2013.
According to criminal complaints filed against Peterson, he allegedly stole items from the store that were worth $619.97.
The damage Peterson allegedly caused to the front of the store is approximately $10,000.
In all, he is facing one count of first-degree criminal mischief, two counts of third-degree burglary and two counts of fourth-degree theft.
Peterson's preliminary hearing has been set for Jan. 17.
