Corn Belt honors long-term employees

HUMBOLDT - Thirteen employees of Corn Belt Power Cooperative, headquartered in Humboldt, were honored for service to the cooperative and received awards at the company holiday party Dec. 7 in Emmetsburg.

Recognized were Bob Nielsen, transmission superintendent, 40 years; Diane Wempen, executive assistant, 35 years; Karen Berte, senior vice president, finance and administration, 30 years; Denny Evans, field engineering foreman; and Sarah Dornath, administrative assistant, both 25 years; Patrick Connor, plant manager, 20 years; Mike Thatcher, vice president, generation; and Jim Vermeer, vice president, business development, both 15 years; Josie Ubben, drafting and design technician, 10 years; and Mike Devers, journeyman field technician; Chris Smith, journeyman lineman; Andy Stalzer, journeyman lineman; and Matt Wittrock, journeyman field technician, all five years.

Corn Belt Power Cooperative, a Touchstone Energy Cooperative, is a generation and transmission electric cooperative that provides power to nine distribution rural electric cooperatives and one municipal electric cooperative.
