ALGONA - The Fort Dodge wrestling team will take a shot at the North Central Conference tonight in Algona.
The Dodgers (1-2 overall) will travel to face the Bulldogs and Webster City. Action begins at 6 p.m. inside the Algona gym.
The first dual will be between the Bulldogs and Lynx. Webster City will then face the Dodgers at 7:15 p.m. and the night will end with host Algona against Fort Dodge 8:30 p.m.
After junior varsity action ends, varsity competition will be moved to two mats.
Fort Dodge is coming off an impressive seventh place showing at the Council Bluffs Classic. It was a strong 28-team field, with squads from around the state and surrounding states.
Sixth-ranked freshman Triston Lara (106) picked up the Dodgers lone championship, while fifth-ranked junior Erik Birnbaum (113) finished second.

"I hope we can build off the Council Bluffs tournament,'' said Fort Dodge head coach Bobby Thompson. "We got some good experience from the weekend and we would like to continue that into this weekend at the Don Miller Invitational."
Also ranked for the Dodgers is sophomore Jonah Egli (No. 7 at 152), sophomore Sam Cook (No. 5 at 182) and senior Riley Prescott (No. 4 at 195).
There is potentially three ranked matches that could hit the mat tonight.
Algona senior Joe Teague is ranked second at 182 pounds and could face Cook.
Algona's sixth-ranked senior Tyler Friederes may meet Webster City's fourth-ranked senior Connor Larson at 170 pounds.
Webster City's fifth-rated senior Dylan Fielder (195) could potentially face Fort Dodge's Prescott.
Algona senior Kory Kuecker is also ranked fifth at 145 pounds.
"Both (Webster City and Algona) are solid through the middle weights and up to heavyweight,'' Thompson said. "There will be some great matchups.''
