WEST DES MOINES - The Fort Dodge girls ran into a well oiled machine on Tuesday night, as they suffered a disappointing loss to No. 1 Dowling on Tuesday night.
The Dodgers (3-1 overall), who were coming off an impressive upset over No. 8 Sioux City West, couldn't get anything going as they lost, 73-27.
"Once they got rolling, they didn't stop, they were a machine,'' said Fort Dodge head coach Scott Timmerman. "They had a number of girls that could post up and girls that could shoot from the otuside off of ball movement.''
Sophomore Becca Hittner led the Maroons with 17 points. Auidrey Faber added 15.
Fort Dodge, winners of three straight games to start the season, just couldn't get anything going.
"We took a couple of steps forward to start the season, but we stepped back (tonight),'' Timmerman said. "This shows we still have a long ways to go.
