MANSON - A new champion was crowned at the Doug Wood Invitational on Saturday, as Ogden edged Manson Northwest Webster by four points to claim the team title.
Ogden had four champions, while three Cougars won in their finals matches. St. Edmond (141) finished fifth with two champs.
West Bend-Mallard (120) was eighth and East Sac County (10) was 10th.
St. Edmond's Ryan Szalat (113) and Vinnie Harvey (220) defended titles for the Gaels. Nick Hindt (195) placed second.
"We need to close out matches and wrestle hard for six minutes,'' said SEHS head coach Tanner Utley. "We had some experienced guys get wins and some young wrestlers gain more confidence.''
Szalat earned a fall in his first match and defeated Chase Bulten of Manson Northwest Webster 9-5 in the finals.

"Ryan is a hard-nosed kid,'' Utley said. "He's gaining confidence and riding a wave of momentum.''
Harvey won all three of his matches by falls under two minutes. He spent five minutes and 39 seconds on the mat in all three matches.
"Vinnie has been focused for a long time,'' Utley said. "He knows what he wants and has still worked hard for it.
"We're trying to get him points on the mat and not just pins, so he can get his wind up.''
Hindt lost his championship match to Henry Sippel of Ridge View by fall in 2:50.
"Nick was a nice surprise,'' Utley said. "He got aggressive and it worked in his favor.''
Connor Allison (132) finished third, while Andrew Lenane (106) and Caelan Burbank (285) were fourth.
"Connor wrestled tough,'' Utley said. "He lost to a tough kid and he's learning on the go at 132 and heading in the right direction.''
For the Cougars, Payton Rice (145), Skyler Michalski (152) and Tim Butcher (285) all won championships with Rice and Butcher repeating.
Rice, cruised through the field earning three falls, two under a minute. He spent 2:07 on the mat on the day.
Michalski was on the mat for 3:09 seconds, earning three falls, two under a minute. Butcher also earned three falls on his way to the title.
Finishing as runner-ups for the Cugars was Chase Bulten (113), and Nathan Krueger (182). Eric Wedemery (126) was third.
West Bend-Mallard's Colton WIckman was third at 195 pounds, while Harmon Atwood (132) and Travis Fehr (138) were fourth.
St. Edmond is back in action on Thursday when they host a triangular on Thursday when they host Iowa Falls-Alden and Webster City. Action begins at 6 p.m.
