Seeking a third straight trip to nationals and its fifth in program history, the Iowa Central volleyball team will battle 14th-ranked Des Moines Area in a NJCAA Div. II Region XI A final here this afternoon.
Action begins at 1 p.m. inside Hodges Fieldhouse.
The second-seeded Tritons (19-23 overall) edged No. 3 seed Southeastern in five games in the regional tournament semifinals on Tuesday night, 26-24, 26-24, 20-25, 14-25 and 15-13.

No. 1 seed DMACC (32-10) ousted fourth-seeded Ellsworth in the semifinals, winning by scores of 25-15, 25-14 and 25-13. The Bears are coached by Patty Harrison, who helped start the Iowa Central program back in 1983. Kaitlynn Vought (Humboldt) and Kenzie Grimm (West Bend-Mallard) both play regularly for DMACC, which has prevailed in four consecutive matches and seven of their past eight.
Seventh-ranked and top-seeded Kirkwood (32-7) and No. 2 seed Southwestern (33-9) will also square off here today in the Region XI B championship at 3 p.m.
The NJCAA Div. II championships are Nov. 21-23 in Toledo, Ohio.
