To the editor:
I would like to pose a serious question, How difficult is it to time traffic lights on a one-way street?
Seriously, I would like to know.
As someone that works downtown and uses both First Avenue North and First Avenue South every day - sometimes many times a day, I find it odd that First Avenue South almost always appears to be timed correctly, whereas First Avenue North is all over the board. Leaving work today I got stopped at each light, one even turned red right as the car in front of me reached it. I thought the purpose of a one-way was to facilitate traffic flow, not to make it worse than stop signs.
