Plans are moving forward for a Pizza Ranch in Fort Dodge's future.

The company is proposing to build a new restaurant located in the northwest lot in front of Menards, west of the existing Casey's, at 3315 Fifth Ave. S.

Monday night, the Fort Dodge City Council approved a development agreement for the future Pizza Ranch as part of its consent agenda. The agreement regards a storm water detention pond that Pizza Ranch will build in order to ease the new building's impact on the drainage ditch there.

The restaurant has not filed any building permits yet, but it is working with the city on a site plan review, said Carissa Miller, associate planner with the Department of Business Affairs and Community Growth.

On Aug. 19, the council approved a plat creating the subdivision for the land that will hold the Pizza Ranch.
